How To Accurately Translate WhatsApp Transcriptions For iPhone And Android Users?
WhatsApp allows you to transcribe voice notes, but it won't translate them to your native language. In this short blog I'll teach you how to get the translation for iPhone and Android smartphones.
Introduction
The previous week I showed you how to get more accurate transcriptions for your voice notes if WhatsApp hasn’t included your target language yet. You’ll notice that you can’t highlight the translate the transcription even if you tried to highlight and copy the text to paste it in a translator app. This tutorial is just as easy as the previous one I shared last week so feel free to follow along with the video or the text walkthrough.
Walkthrough
If you prefer to read then follow the steps below!
Tap and hold to select the Transcribe button to create the transcription.
Expand the transcription if needed and screen capture it.
Access your Gallery and open the image
Tap on the lower right Icon until it turns blue and then select Translate
OPTIONAL: Apps like Deepl or Google Translate can translate screen captures.
Conclusion
WhatsApp has enabled a game changing feature that I use all the time since most translation apps can’t multitask, however, their transcriptions can’t be translated to ensure I have a clear idea of what I’m reading in my target language.
I hope you found this week’s tip useful and let me know if you want to know other ways to make your language learning journey as effortless as possible!
